5.1 magnitude earthquake shakes Shahdad Kot, sparks panic

KARACHI: Severe tremors of an earthquake were felt in and around Shahdad Kot city of Sindh.

According to the Earthquake and Tsunami Monitoring Center, a 5.1 magnitude earthquake was recorded in Shahdad Kot and its surroundings at 12:36 pm.

Officials said that the depth of the earthquake was 14 kilometers while the epicenter was approximately 74 kilometers northwest of Shahdad Kot.

The earthquake caused severe panic among the people and citizens came out of their homes chanting the Kalima Tayyaba, however, no immediate reports of any loss of life or property were received.
