GUJRAT: In a tragic incident, police have recovered dead bodies five siblings aged between 6 and 13 years old have died in a house near Bakra Mandi in Gujrat.

The names of the dead children are said to be Laiba, Hashim, Hadi, Hanan, and Salim Fayyaz. According to the reports the children might have succumbed to poisonous fumes released after burning coal inside their room.

The children’s mother reported that the children were burning coal inside the room to keep them warm which may have resulted in the unfortunate incident.

The dead bodies were later transferred to near by hospital for further examination whereas, the investigation is still ongoing to determine the real cause behind the deaths.

This incident is a most stern reminder of the hazards of using coal for heating purposes in enclosed surroundings. Toxic fume inhalation can lead to death, hence making the precautions for safety and security for families necessary.

In some other case, a mother in Karak, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, allegedly murdered her two minor kids over a domestic dispute and then committed suicide. These children were identified as Zain, 2, and Rabia, 4.

These incidents reaffirm the critical role played by parents in ensuring that their children are safe and secure and the need for families to take precautions to prevent such tragedies from happening.

Only appropriate steps must be clubbed together very urgently by the authorities to track these happenings and avert any such repeating ones. Creation of greater awareness on the dangers coal burning poses should be in action, along with the concerted efforts to help families generally.
