50% increase in conveyance allowance for government employees

KARACHI: The Sindh government has issued a notification for a 50% increase in conveyance allowance for government employees.

According to the notification issued by the Sindh Finance Department, the new allowance will be implemented from July 1, 2026.

Under the notification, new rates of conveyance allowance have been fixed according to the grades of various government employees. The monthly conveyance allowance of employees in grades one to four has been increased from Rs 1,785 to Rs 2,678, while the allowance of employees in grades five to ten has been increased from Rs 1,932 to Rs 2,898.

Similarly, the conveyance allowance of government employees from grades 11 to 15 has also been increased. The allowance of these employees has been increased from Rs 2,856 to Rs 4,284, while the conveyance allowance of officers and employees in grades 16 and above has been increased from Rs 5,000 to Rs 7,500 per month.

According to the Sindh Finance Department, the provincial government had announced the increase in conveyance allowance in the budget for the financial year 2026-27, which is now being implemented. This decision will benefit millions of government employees in the province financially.

Government employees welcomed the decision to increase the allowance and expressed hope that the government would also take further steps to resolve other problems faced by the employees.
