KARACHI: A passenger was denied a flight to Jeddah due to alleged negligence of the staff at the boarding and ticketing counter of private airline Airblue. The affected passenger, Qudratullah, was flying from Karachi to Jeddah on Airblue flight PA 170.
According to media reports, during ticket confirmation at Jinnah Terminal, the Airblue ticketing counter staff probably tore the passenger’s passport, due to which Qudratullah was declared ineligible for international travel and could not board the flight.
After the passport was torn, flight PA 170 left the passenger and departed for Jeddah. The passenger Qudratullah was going to Saudi Arabia for work with a group, but this sudden incident severely affected his travel plans.
After the passport was damaged, the passenger protested vehemently at Jinnah Terminal and took the stand that international travel is not possible with a torn passport. According to sources, now the passenger will have to get a new passport to go to Saudi Arabia.
After the incident, questions have been raised about the negligence of the airline staff, while the affected passenger has also demanded compensation for the damages.
