AJK PM Anwarul Huq imposes emergency in Azad Kashmir amid tensions

MUZAFFARABAD: Given the current situation, the Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Chaudary Anwarul Huq, has imposed a state of emergency across the region.

Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir Anwarul Haq has issued immediate instructions to the State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) in this regard.

The Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir has said that all relevant institutions should be on alert for the protection of citizens, provision of basic facilities, and dealing with any emergency.

SDMA has been directed to take immediate steps to avert possible dangers in all districts and to keep necessary machinery and personnel on high alert.

According to sources, the local administration has also been directed to keep a close watch on the situation and provide timely information to the public.

Citizens have been asked to avoid unnecessary travel and follow government instructions. The purpose of imposing an emergency is to protect public life and property and deal with any possible danger immediately.
