Saudi minister arrives in Islamabad amid Pak-India tensions

ISLAMABAD: Saudi Arabia’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Adel Al Jubeir arrived in Islamabad amidst rising tensions between Pakistan and India, with Indias misadventure martyring several innocent children.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar welcomed the Saudi Minister of State for Foreign Affairs at Pakistans Foreign Office. Adel Al Jubeir has been to India before coming to Pakistan and will hold high-level meetings with the Pakistani officials.

Meanwhile, Ishaq Dar received a telephone call from Japanese Foreign Minister Takeshi Iwaya. They discussed the ongoing escalation of tension and discussions around the region.

According to the Foreign Office, the deputy prime minister briefed his Japanese counterpart on Indias recent misadventures and how the recent incidents have led to the martyrdom of innocent Pakistani civilians, including women and children.

Ishaq Dar explained to the Japanese foreign minister that, regardless of Indias illegal actions committed against international laws, Pakistan has exercised restraint.

He also reinforced that the government has very clearly communicated that it will protect its regional security and independence. He also communicated that Pakistan will always take action to defend its people and territorial integrity.

The foreign minister of Japan expressed serious worry about the grossly elevated situation in the area and expressed regret for the civilian deaths, and called on both Pakistan and India to practice restraint and to move to discussions and diplomacy to de-escalate the situation and achieve a peaceful settlement.

Minister of Defence Khawaja Asif has said Pakistan’s armed forces are fully capable of dealing with the situation developing from the Indian aggression. Speaking in the National Assembly today, he said our forces were doing a good job of fighting the enemy forces on the line of control and the working boundary.

He said Indias plans were being foiled successfully and had demoralized the Indian people, governments, and media. Minister of Defence Khawaja Asif said the morale of our people, the armed forces, the political parties, and other facets of society is high.

Referring to the shooting down of five Indian fighter jets and other drones, Khawaja Asif said we are proud of our armed forces, and the whole nation is standing shoulder to shoulder with them.
