ISLAMABAD: The official sources in Pakistan have denied reports put out by an Indian organisation that they hacked the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) data.
An Indian group claimed online that they had hacked the Federal Board of Revenue’s IRIS portal and stolen more than 150GB of data. They claimed to have sensitive information, including national ID numbers (CNICs), full name, phone numbers, address, and tax records.
Official sources told ProPakistani that there has been no hacking of FBR’s website, and it is functioning and operating normally. According to official sources, the FBR‘s digital infrastructure remains secure and operational.
They said that the claims of hacking were fake and are part of an ongoing misinformation campaign.
It is important to note here that since the tensions between Pakistan and India have started, India has been spreading false news trying to damage the reputation of Pakistan.
