Amir Muqam chairs key meeting on Gilgit situation

GILGIT: Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs, Gilgit-Baltistan and SAFRON Amir Muqam chaired an important meeting regarding the current situation in Gilgit.

In the meeting, the Federal Minister was given a detailed briefing on the ongoing energy projects in the region, including the 100 MW solar power project, as well as the solar plates project provided as a gift to the people of Gilgit-Baltistan by Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif.

The concerned officials briefed the Federal Minister about the current progress of the projects, technical aspects and future prospects.

The meeting reviewed the overall situation of Gilgit-Baltistan, law and order and other important issues, while various measures were also considered to further improve the situation.

On this occasion, the Federal Minister appreciated the ongoing initiatives in the energy sector and stressed the importance of timely completion and effective implementation of the projects.

He said that the government is taking serious steps to promote sustainable energy in Gilgit-Baltistan and solar energy projects will play an important role in meeting the energy needs of the region.

The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Gilgit-Baltistan Arshad Majeed Mohmand, Additional Chief Secretary Mushtaq Ahmed, IG Gilgit-Baltistan Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, Commissioner Gilgit and other senior government officials.
