KARACHI: Another child died after falling into an open manhole in Karachi, on Monday
The total number of people who died after falling into open manholes and drains this year has reached 27, including young children, girls and men.
It may be recalled that yesterday, an 8-year-old child died after falling into a drain in the Korangi Mehran Town area of Karachi. The child was identified as Dilbar, who fell into the drain while playing outside the house. The child’s body was pulled out of the drain by his uncle.
Earlier this month, the body of a 3-year-old child who fell into an open manhole near Nipa Chowrangi in the Gulshan-e-Iqbal area of Karachi was found in a drain one kilometer away after 14 hours.
The two children who died after falling into the drain in the Gulshan-e-Iqbal and Korangi areas of Karachi were the only children of their parents.
