ISLAMABAD: Pakistanis across the country are gearing up for a welcomed change in weather as a fresh spell of rain, hailstorms, and snowfall is forecasted to grace the nation, promising cooler temperatures and replenishing moisture for various regions.

Starting tomorrow, the Meteorological Office has issued severe weather warnings for multiple areas, heralding the arrival of much-needed precipitation. Southwest Balochistan, in particular, is expected to receive heavy rainfall ranging from 50-100 mm, offering relief to parched lands but also prompting caution due to the potential for flash flooding.

In addition, areas such as Panjgur, Dalbandin, and Khuzdar are bracing for strong winds with gusts of 80-100 km/h, highlighting the importance of preparedness and safety measures in affected regions.

Quetta, meanwhile, anticipates a significant drop in temperature accompanied by strong winds, marking a notable shift in weather patterns for the region. The bustling city of Karachi and its surrounding districts are also set to receive rain accompanied by thunder until February 4, providing a refreshing respite from dry conditions.

The northern regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) and Gilgit Baltistan are preparing for heavy snowfall, which is expected to bring joy to winter enthusiasts while ensuring replenishment of water resources for the upcoming season. Alongside snowfall, scattered wind thunderstorms and moderate to heavy rainfall are predicted in specific districts, contributing to the overall water table of the region.

In Upper Punjab and Kashmir, thunderstorm activity is expected to bring relief from dry weather, with areas like Attock, Rawalpindi, and Islamabad poised to receive moderate to heavy rainfall, invigorating the landscape and ensuring agricultural prosperity.

Similarly, Azad Kashmir is anticipated to witness increased rainfall in regions including Kotli, Muzaffarabad, and Mirpur, while Rawalakot awaits its first snowfall, adding to the scenic beauty of the region and signaling the onset of winter in the area.
