Nawab Shah: Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, the youngest member of the Bhutto family, has entered the realm of parliamentary politics by submitting her nomination papers for the upcoming by-election in the NA-207 Nawabshah constituency in Nawabshah.

This decision comes as the seat became vacant due to Asif Ali Zardari’s assumption of the presidency, making him the 14th President of Pakistan.

Aseefa’s decision to contest the by-election marks a significant milestone as she formally steps into the political arena, backed by a substantial following and support from party members who gathered to welcome her.

Born on February 3, 1993, in London, Aseefa Bhutto Zardari inherits a political legacy deeply rooted in Pakistani politics. Renowned for her advocacy in public health, Aseefa has emerged as a prominent political figure within the Bhutto family.

Her early years were defined by her role as the first child in Pakistan to receive the polio vaccine, symbolizing her family’s commitment to healthcare initiatives.

Aseefa holds a bachelor’s degree in politics and sociology from Oxford Brookes University, as well as a master’s degree in global health and development from University College London.

Recognized for her dedication to public service, Aseefa was appointed Pakistan’s goodwill ambassador for polio eradication in 2012. Her tireless efforts in fighting the disease earned her widespread acclaim and established her as a key figure in the nation’s healthcare sector.

In 2020, Aseefa made her political debut at a rally in Multan, signaling her active engagement in shaping Pakistan’s political landscape. Despite facing challenges, such as sustaining minor injuries during a PPP procession in 2022, Aseefa remained resolute in her determination.

With her father’s inauguration as president in 2024, Aseefa was formally recognized as the First Lady of Pakistan, marking a historic moment as the first president’s daughter to hold such a prestigious title.
