KARACHI: Airport Security Forces (ASF) on Monday arrested a passenger bound for Iran at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport and recovered 45 Pakistani passports from his possession.

According to the ASF spokesperson, the incident took place during baggage scanning at the Jinnah Terminal, where the passports were recovered from the person’s possession.

The passenger, identified as Adnan, failed to provide a satisfactory explanation for the presence of unrelated passports, the spokesman said.

Later, an ASF spokesperson said that both the passengers and the recovered passports have been handed over to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).

The passenger was allegedly carrying 45 Pakistani passports belonging to different nationalities to Dubai via Iran.

Earlier this year, the Airport Security Force (ASF) foiled a money laundering attempt by seizing Rs 16 million worth of foreign currency and gold jewelery from a Bangkok-bound passenger at the Karachi airport.
