Asif Ali Zardari pays tribute to armed forces on first anniversary of Marka-e-Haq

ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari, paying tribute to the nation and the armed forces on the first anniversary of the Marka-e-Haq, termed the leadership, strategy and bold decisions of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir as key to the success of the Marka-e-Haq and said that Pakistan is a responsible and peace-loving state, and by giving a full but balanced response to the enemy’s aggression, it has sent a message of its defense capability to the world.

The President has appreciated the extraordinary skills and professional capabilities of the Chief of the Air Staff of the Pakistan Air Force, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu and the Shaheens of the Pakistan Air Force.

He has termed the complete operational readiness and defense capabilities of the Chief of the Navy, Admiral Naveed Ashraf and the naval forces as a source of pride for national security.

The President said that Pakistan is a responsible and peace-loving state, and by giving a full but balanced response to the enemy’s aggression, it has sent a message of its defense capability to the world. He said that the issue of occupied Jammu and Kashmir should be resolved in accordance with the resolutions of the United Nations, and Pakistan will continue to provide moral, political and diplomatic support to the Kashmiri people.

President Asif Zardari said that India’s attempt to suspend the Indus Water Treaty is water terrorism, water is the lifeline of millions of Pakistanis. He said that Afghanistan should not allow its soil to be used for terrorism against Pakistan and other countries in the region, and the complete elimination of terrorism supported by external forces is essential for regional peace.

He said that with the efforts of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Pakistan has emerged as a symbol of balance and stability in the region, and Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts for a peaceful resolution of the Iran-US conflict have been appreciated at the global level. He said that the Pakistani nation and armed forces are fully prepared to face every challenge and defend the beloved homeland.
