In a recent political development, The Islamabad Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) has declared Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur as an absconder in the case of public protests, against the disqualification of former prime minister Imran Khan.

This decision was made during a hearing in which Pakistan Tehkreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders Faisal Javed and Wasiq Qayyum made an appearance before Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra.

Gandapur’s non-appearance has brought forth a case of not appearing before the court and facilitated the issuance of non-bailable arrest warrants against him.

The court also declared Umar Tanveer Butt an absconder, and proceedings were initiated to declare another party, Aamir Kiani, an absconder to appear.

The case, which was registered at the Secretariat Police Station, accuses the PTI leadership of inciting protesters to damage public properties, meddling with governmental affairs, and so on.

To ease the matter, Faisal Javed made an application to strike out the terrorism charges from the case. However, the court decided to issue arrest warrants for the absconding suspects and adjourned the hearing to January 15, seeking arguments on the pending applications.
