ISLAMABAD: (Rizwan Abbasi) – The federal government of Pakistan has approved the release of Rs 14 billion development funds for Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
Possible in-house change in Azad Kashmir On the other hand, a new debate has erupted in political circles after the release of development funds by the federation.
According to sources, the approval of development funds has been given for two quarters of July to September and October to December 2025. The Ministry of Planning has issued upfront one-line authorization for the release of these funds to ensure timely completion of the projects.
As per the sources, the approval of funds for the first two quarters was given a few days ago. A total of Rs 45 billion has been allocated for Azad Kashmir in the federal development budget during the current fiscal year. According to government sources, the release of development funds is not limited to Azad Kashmir alone, but development funds have also been approved for federal ministries, divisions and other departments.
Government sources say that the release of funds has nothing to do with the current political situation in Azad Kashmir, but this process is being completed as per the normal schedule of the federal development budget. Sources say that in the first two quarters of the financial year, approval has been given to release Rs 335.43 billion for development projects across the country, while the overall volume of the federal development budget for the current financial year has been set at Rs 1,000 billion.
According to the Ministry of Planning, the distribution of development funds is being done in a transparent and scheduled manner. According to the government’s stance, the aim of these funds is to ensure timely and effective completion of development projects across the country.
The release of development funds before the change of government in Azad Kashmir has created new heat in the political atmosphere, however, the federal government is strongly denying the impression that the release of funds is linked to any political objective or influence.
