RAWALPINDI: Bahria Town (BT) Rawalpindi and Islamabad, a private housing, penned a letter to the Miniter of Interior Mohsin Naqvi to address the rising criminal and immoral activities in the Civic Centre, situated in Phase 4 of the society.

In a letter, BT Islamabad’s Executive Director said that in the recent past emergence of Spas, Massage parlors, Shisha Centres, Coll girls and prostitutes, and the drug trade has vitiated the environment. Criminal mafias are now active in the Civic Centre which is a threat to the thriving business and commercial hub.

BT administration alleged to the interior minister that despite our efforts to control the criminal and immoral activities, there is a continuous increase in the aforementioned activities.

Moreover, the letter, available with Daily Ausaf, added that residents of Bahria Town protested in the Civic Centre against the criminal groups and individuals on August 25 and 26.

Bahria Town further warns of possible violence and clashes in the area due to the genuine protests of the residents, based on Islamic and political undertones.

Following the volatile situation, the BT administration, in the letter, urged the interior minister to take immediate and urgent intervention to direct the Police and District Administration to launch a proper cleanup operation to evict the criminal and immoral elements from the Civic Centre.

“Until these Massage Parlors, Spas, and Shisha Bars are permanently closed by the magistrate district administration and prostitutes, transgenders, etc evicted from this area, the issue will escalate into a serious law and order situation,” the letter added.

Requesting for a cleanup operation, Bahria Town Pvt Limited said that this is in the public interest and will ensure that the Civic Centre becomes a secure and safe place for the residents of the private housing society and the general public.
