Balochistan: Bus falls into deep ravine in Sherani, 40 killed and many injured

QUETTA: A bus accident in Dana Sar in Sherani area of ​​Balochistan has killed 40 people and injured many, including women and children.

According to Special Assistant on Information Balochistan Shahid Rind, 40 people were killed and 8 were injured in a tragic accident of a passenger bus in Dana Sar, a border area of ​​Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.

Shahid Rind said that on the instructions of the Chief Minister of Balochistan, as soon as the information about the accident was received, the administration of the relevant districts was immediately contacted and rescue and relief operations were intensified.

According to initial information, the bus that was involved in the accident was also carrying passengers from another passenger bus that had broken down, due to which there were more people in the vehicle than its capacity. He said that the district administration is conducting a detailed examination of the causes of the accident, while the process of identifying the deceased and providing medical facilities to the injured is underway.

Rescue personnel are busy pulling out passengers who fell into the ravine and providing medical assistance to the injured, while relief operations are still ongoing.

It should be noted that Dana Sar is an important mountain pass located on the National Highway N-50 (N-50), which plays the role of the main land connection between Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

This place is located about 35 kilometers from Zhob and about 130 kilometers from Dera Ismail Khan and is considered a very important passage for traffic due to its location in the difficult Suleman mountain range.

President Asif Ali Zardari, expressing deep sorrow and grief over the tragic passenger bus accident, prayed for the forgiveness of those who died in the accident and expressed heartfelt sympathy and condolences to their families.

The President prayed for the speedy and complete recovery of those injured in the accident and directed the relevant institutions to ensure that all possible and best medical facilities are provided to the injured.

Asif Ali Zardari said that the entire nation shares the grief of the affected families in this tragic incident and the government has utilized all available resources to provide all possible assistance.

Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti, while expressing deep sorrow and grief over the tragic passenger bus accident that took place in Dana Sar, has said that a complete investigation into the accident is underway and the relevant administrative officers are conducting a detailed assessment of its causes. He said that the Balochistan government has directed the relevant institutions to immediately intensify rescue and relief operations, while the district administrations, FC and rescue agencies of both provinces are active at the scene of the accident.

The Chief Minister directed that timely and best medical facilities should be provided to the injured and no effort should be left unturned in the relief operations. He expressed his resolve that the government stands with the affected families in this difficult time and will provide all possible support.
