QUETTA: The Balochistan government has released more than Rs 1 billion to pay salaries to employees of four universities in the province.
According to a notification from the Balochistan Finance Department, Rs 520 million has been released to the University of Balochistan, and Rs 180 million to the Balochistan University of Information Technology Engineering and Management Sciences.
While Rs 200 million to the Sardar Bahadur Khan Women University and Rs 100 million to the Lasbela University of Agriculture, Water and Marine Sciences.
The Finance Department has released this amount for the payment of salaries and pensions of the employees of the universities till June.
Notably, the employees of the University of Balochistan have been protesting for the past 1 month over non-payment of salaries.
