ISLAMABAD: All branches of commercial banks will remain open across the country till 10:00 pm on Wednesday, i.e., December 31, 2025, to receive government duties and taxes.
“Banks have been advised to keep their counters open late to allow taxpayers to make over-the-counter payments on the last day of the year, according to an official notice issued on Tuesday.
Accordingly, banks have also been advised to keep their relevant branches open for as long as necessary to facilitate special clearing of government transactions being conducted by the National Institutional Facilitation Technologies (NIFT).
Additionally, banks have been instructed to ensure that all online payment channels, such as internet banking, mobile banking applications, ATMs, and other digital platforms, remain uninterrupted so that taxpayers may pay their dues to the government electronically without any disruption.
It aims to ease last-day pressure and ensure smooth collection of government revenues at year-end.
