ISLAMABAD: In shocking news, the Careem ride-hailing service has announced that it will no longer be available in Pakistan from July 18, 2025.
In a notification, the services stated that we are saying goodbye, Careem will no longer be operational in Pakistan from July 18. Thank u for supporting, the notification further stated.
Careem CEO Mudassar Sheikha announced this in his LinkedIn post and said that it is with great regret that I announce that Careem will be shutting down its ride-hailing service in Pakistan from next month, July 18, 2025.
He said that this decision was extremely difficult, but due to the continuously deteriorating economic conditions in Pakistan, increasing competition, and global investment challenges, it was not possible to provide a safe and reliable service.
It should be noted that the online taxi service Careem launched its services in Pakistan in 2015 and quickly gained popularity among the public.
