CDA Islamabad announces six-month paid internship for fresh graduates

ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has announced a six-month ‘CDA Internship Program-2024’ for fresh graduates, offering paid internships in various departments of the civic agency.

According to the CDA, the internship program will start in June 2024 monthly stipend of Rs40,000 in various departments of CDA to provide an opportunity for young graduates to gain experience and start their professional careers in different fields.

The eligible candidates must have completed a bachelor’s degree (4 years) in the last three years from a government-recognized institution in disciplines including business administration or management, marketing, and computer sciences.

As per the eligibility criteria, the candidates awaiting results are ineligible for the internship program.

How to register for the CDA internship program

About the application procedure, only e-applications will be accepted, and the forms can be accessed and filled out from — https://apps.cda.gov.pk/Jobs/Internship — while incomplete applications will not be shortlisted.

Applicants may apply online within 15 days from the date of publication of the advertisement, and there will be no TA or DA allowed for the candidates.

Selection procedure for the CDA internship program

Regarding the selection procedure, applicants with consistently excellent academic records will be shortlisted, and percentage marks obtained in SSC, HSSC, and bachelor’s, or equivalent, will be given corresponding weights of 30 marks each out of a total of 90 marks, with 10 marks to be allocated for interview.

Names of the shortlisted candidates for the interview will be uploaded on the CDA website with detailed guidelines.

The number of interns, placement, assignment of duty, and termination of the internship will be at the discretion of the CDA.

However, interns can also request termination of their internship on 15 days’ notice in writing, but an internship completion certificate will not be awarded in such cases, he said.

The applications of those students who have served as interns under the previous program will not be accepted. The internship is neither an offer of appointment nor is its period extendable, and it will not confer any right of employment or regularization, he said.

The interns will only be entitled to the lump-sum stipend mentioned above and will be governed by the rules of the CDA about disciplinary matters and confidentiality.
