ISLAMABAD: In the first seven months of the current fiscal year, cement sales in the country have increased by 9 percent on an annual basis, while exports have increased by one percent.
According to the statistics of the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association, 29.94 million tons of cement were sold in the first seven months of the fiscal year, which is 9 percent more than the same period of the previous fiscal year. In the first seven months of the previous fiscal year, 27.54 million tons of cement were sold in the country.
In January, 4.15 million tons of cement were sold in the country, which is 3 percent more than the 4.03 million tons in January last year.
According to statistics, in the first 7 months of the fiscal year, 20.66 million tons of cement were sold in the northern cities and regions of the country, which is 12 percent more than the same period of the previous fiscal year.
In the first 7 months of the previous fiscal year, 18.38 million tons of cement were sold in the northern cities and regions of the country.
In the first 7 months of the fiscal year, 3.82 million tons of cement were sold in the southern cities and regions of the country, which is one percent more than the 3.77 million tons in the same period of the previous fiscal year.
According to statistics, 5.46 million tons of cement were exported in the first 7 months of the fiscal year, which is one percent more than the 5.39 million tons in the same period of the previous fiscal year.
The country is estimated to have exported 0.83 million tons of cement in January, which is 43 percent more than the 0.58 million tons in January last year.
