KARACHI: The price of gold per tola in Pakistan dropped by Rs35,500 in a single day after a rise in two consecutive days.
The correction has come as a relief to consumers who had been holding back purchases due to record-high prices on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Following this drop, the rate of 24-karat gold is now at Rs537,362 per tola in the local market, including Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad.
Likewise, the price of 10 grams of 24-karat gold also dropped by Rs30,345, which is now at Rs460,701.
The correction in prices has come after aggressive buying and speculation pushed prices to record-high levels in the past few sessions.
