ISLAMABAD: In a recent development, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar, optimism regarding the bail of the PTI founder Imran Khan.
In an interview, Gohar stated that 11 June 2025 will be an important day regarding the future of PTI. Additionally, Gohar wished Eid to all Pakistanis, Palestinian brethren, and troops fighting on the borders.
He added that this will be the fourth Eid to be spent without Imran Khan‘s presence, but his ideology still dictates the party.
Gohar made a statement that PTI would partner with the opposition parties to initiate a movement, which would be spearheaded by the party‘s “pattern-in-chief“ from prison.
He asked opposition parties to come on board with PTI for the survival and security of the country. Gohar also announced that a strategy for the next budget had been finalized, and there would be a big press conference on June 9.
Referring to the arrest of Bushra Bibi, he alleged she was being kept in jail without any charge to put pressure on the PTI founder.
Gohar categorically declared that no concessions will be made for the release of the founder and shot down rumors of internal conflict within PTI, claiming that the party is united.
It should be noted here that the Islamabad High Court (IHC) previously adjourned for hearing petitions seeking suspension of sentences for ex-Prime Minister and PTI founder Imran Khan and his spouse Bushra Bibi in the 190 million Pound Al-Qadir Trust case till June 11.
The adjournment followed a plea by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) for more time to frame its arguments. The case was being heard by Acting IHC Chief Justice Sarfaraz Dogar and Justice Muhammad Asif.
Meanwhile, Imran Khan has also made public announcement about a country-wide protest movement against the government.
The PTI senator made it clear that the protest movement will not be Islamabad-centric but will cover the whole country of Pakistan.
He said Imran Khan is “pushed against the wall“ with nothing left but to go out into the streets, adding that the ex-premier will make all the decisions regarding the movement while behind bars.
Senator Zafar disclosed that he has been tasked by the PTI founder with coming up with a comprehensive plan for the protest movement, which he will share at their next meeting.
