ISLAMABAD: The Chief Justices of Islamabad, Sindh, and Peshawar High Courts took oath of office on Tuesday in different ceremonies held at their respective capitals.
The swearing-in ceremony of the Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court was held in the Presidency in the federal capital, where President Asif Ali Zardari administered the oath of office to Justice Sardar Sarfaraz Dogar as Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court.
Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz, and Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, and senior lawyers were present at the swearing-in ceremony.
Moreover, Justice Muhammad Junaid Ghaffar took oath as the 26th Chief Justice of the Sindh High Court.
The swearing-in ceremony of Chief Justice Sindh High Court Justice Muhammad Junaid Ghaffar was held at the Governor House, Karachi, in which Chief Secretary Sindh Asif Haider Shah read out the notification of the appointment of Chief Justice Sindh High Court.
Governor Sindh Kamran Tesori administered the oath of office to the Chief Justice. A large number of judges of the High Court and district courts, officials of the High Court and Karachi Bar Association, and other lawyers were present at the ceremony.
In addition, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and Senior Minister Sharjeel Memon, IG Sindh, Additional IG Karachi, business figures, and ambassadors of brotherly countries also attended the ceremony.
Furthermore, the oath-taking ceremony of the Chief Justice of the Peshawar High Court was held at the Governor House, Peshawar, where Justice Syed Muhammad Atiq Shah took the oath of office as Chief Justice of the Peshawar High Court.
Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi administered the oath of office to Justice SM Atiq Shah as Chief Justice of the Peshawar High Court.
Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sardar Ali Amin Khan Gandapur also attended the oath-taking ceremony.
The ceremony was attended by justices, Federal Minister for SAFRON Amir Muqam, Leader of the Opposition in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Dr. Ibadullah, provincial ministers, Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shahab Ali Shah, IG Police Zulfiqar Ahmed, Commissioner Peshawar Riaz Mehsud, heads of administrative departments, lawyers and others.
