ISLAMABAD: Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Sahir Shamshad Mirza on Tuesday attended the commemoration ceremony of the 98th Founding Day of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) of the People’s Republic of China as the chief guest.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the ceremony was attended by civilian and military officials, media representatives, business leaders and members of civil society. The presence of such a diverse audience reflects the broad-based support for the enduring Pakistan-China partnership.
The CJCSC extended its heartfelt congratulations to the Chinese people, its military leadership and all ranks of the PLA.
He praised the PLA’s important role in China’s remarkable development and rapid modernization under the far-sighted leadership of President Xi Jinping. He said that this transformation has established China as an important pillar of peace, stability and prosperity. The CJCSC also emphasized China’s role as a stabilizing factor in the dynamics of regional security.
In his address, General Sahir highlighted the enduring and tested “iron-clad brotherhood” between Pakistan and China. He stressed the shared resolve to broaden and deepen this unique relationship across all domains.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to the security of Chinese nationals working in Pakistan, the CJCSC also stressed the importance of advancing cooperation under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), strengthening defense ties, and promoting regional harmony and development.
General Sahir’s visit and address reaffirmed Pakistan’s continued commitment to its strategic and defense partnership with China, as both countries seek to enhance cooperation for mutual development and stability.
