CM Balochistan forms committee for levies merger with Police in province

QUETTA: The Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Sarfaraz Bugti, has formed a five-member special committee to merge the Levies force of the province with the police department in three divisions.

As per the details, the committee will be headed by the special secretary of the Balochistan home department, and will include the deputy commissioners, the SSPs, and wing commanders of the Frontier Constabulary, according to a notification issued by the government.

The merger of the Levies with the police department in the 13 districts of Makran, Rakhshan, and Zhob division shall be completed by 10 July 2025.

The committee will update Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti and the Corps Commander on July 15, 2025, after transferring all Levies assets to the police till July 10, 2025.
