CM Maryam announces historic relief package for farmers

LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif has announced a major package worth 23 billion rupees for the development of the Kacha area, improvement of law and order, and an increase in employment opportunities, which includes multiple projects in infrastructure, education, health, and security.

The Chief Minister announced the establishment of the “Apna Khet, Apna Rozgar” program, which will provide 14,500 acres of government land to Kacha residents for agricultural development.

She reported that the Kacha area had experienced complete peace during the last five months because this marked the first time that government authority had been successfully established in the area.

The announced package will fund the construction of schools, hospitals, roads, and bridges at a total cost of 23 billion rupees. The package includes 7.1 billion rupees for law enforcement, 13.9 billion for social infrastructure, and 1.7 billion for additional projects.

The Chief Minister ordered the creation of transportation systems, which include clinic-on-wheels, mobile veterinary hospitals, and laboratories for Kacha residents.

The police will use Safe City cameras to track their vehicles and check posts through a 24-hour surveillance system, which operates with solar-powered drones.

The education sector has received authorization to build 65 new schools and restore existing schools while establishing 16 new schools and 2 girls’ colleges.

The program will provide school meal milk packs to 6551 female students, while 300 students will receive Honhaar scholarships, and 300 students will get laptops.
