CM Maryam Nawaz approves key appointments of 25 parliamentary secretaries

LAHORE: The Punjab government has announced the appointment of 25 parliamentary secretaries to various departments, aiming to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the government.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz approved the appointments covering key sectors such as agriculture, revenue, energy, education, industry, and healthcare.

Osama Leghari has been appointed as the Parliamentary Secretary for the Agriculture Department in the agriculture and food security sector.

At the same time, Malik Waheed will serve as the Parliamentary Secretary for Food. For revenue and finance, Shoaib Awaisi will be the Parliamentary Secretary for the Board of Revenue, and Shehryar Malik will hold the same position for Excise and Taxation.

The energy and resources sector will be supported by Mansoor Azam as the Parliamentary Secretary for Energy, and Muhammad Zubair as the Parliamentary Secretary for Mines and Minerals.

In education and human rights, Ajmal Khan has been appointed as the Parliamentary Secretary for Higher Education, Nausheen Adnan for School Education, and Sonia Ashiq for Human Rights and Religious Affairs.

Other notable appointments include Hassan Askari Sheikh as the Parliamentary Secretary for Industries, Commerce, and Investment, Shazia Rizwan for Information and Culture, Sahibzada Ghazeen Abbasi for Labor and Manpower, and Khalid Ranjha for Law and Parliamentary Affairs.

The appointments also cover local government and development, planning and development, emergency services, health and medical education, transport, youth affairs, women’s development, and social welfare
