QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti abolished the Food Department, as a new department will be established for essential commodities, price control, and consumer protection.
According to the details, the Balochistan Chief Minister approved the establishment of the Commodity Management Department. The Commodity Management Department will have powers against price fixing and hoarding.
The Balochistan Food Authority will work under the Commodity Management Department. The establishment of the new department is expected to save crores of rupees in government expenditure.
A total of 974 posts will be created in the Commodity Management Department, while there will be a total of 625 posts in the Directorate of Commodity Management.
