KARACHI: Army Chief Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir attended the commissioning parade of the 123rd Midshipman and 31st Short Service Commission Course of the Pakistan Navy in Karachi.
The Field Marshal marks the occasion as the Chief Guest for the passing out parade, according to media reports.
According to ABN News, Field Marshal Asim Munir was saluted by the Pakistan Navy’s decorated contingent at the Pakistan Naval Academy PNS Rahbar, followed by an inspection of the parade.
Field Marshal Asim Munir also distributed prizes among the cadets who showed outstanding performance in the 123rd Midshipman and 31st Short Service Commission Course.
For his exceptional achievement, Midshipman Abdul Rehman received the coveted Sword of Honour.
Foreign dignitaries and senior officers of the Pakistan Navy and other armed forces, and the families of the passed-out cadets, also attended the ceremony.
In his speech, Field Marshal Munir commended the graduating cadets and emphasized the importance of the Pakistan Navy in protecting the nation’s maritime borders.
He conveyed his faith in the freshly commissioned officers’ abilities and commitment.
