ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Interior has decided to deploy the army across the country given security concerns during Muharramul-Haram, according to media reports.

The Ministry of Interior has decided to deploy the army in all four provinces, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Kashmir, in view of security during Muharram.

The four provinces and Gilgit-Baltistan had asked for the deployment of the army. The Ministry of Interior has also issued a notification for the deployment of the army in Islamabad.

According to the notification, the army will perform security duties to support civil institutions during the holy month.

Earlier, the Director General of the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) had formed a special team to snub the hate speechers during the holy month of Muharramul Haram on the direction of the Ministry of Interior, according to media reports.
