NDMA issues flood alert for Gilgit Baltistan for next three days

Heavy rains raise flash flood threat in KP

GILGIT BALTISTAN: The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued an alert regarding possible floods in some areas of Gilgit-Baltistan in the next three days

Rain with wind and storm is also expected in Diamer, Astore, Ghazar, Skardu, Hunza, Gilgit, Ghanche, and Shigar in Gilgit-Baltistan during June 26-29

Due to possible rains in Gilgit-Baltistan, local rivers and adjacent areas of Hunza River, Khanjar Ab, Kulak, Chipsa, and Shamshal Baraldo River are likely to experience flood conditions.

Potential flood conditions in Gilgit-Baltistan are likely to cause damage to tourist attractions in various areas, including Khudaabad, Karimabad, Nagar, and Gulmit.

The authority has advised the public to avoid traveling in dangerous areas and to avoid crossing rivers and streams. People are advised to move their livestock and valuables to safe places

The public has been requested to take guidance from the Pakistan NDMA Disaster Alert App for awareness regarding weather and possible hazards.
