LAHORE:  Over 23,500 houses are nearing completion under Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz’s “Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar” program in five months, a housing scheme launched by the government in 2024.

The purchase and recovery of debts under the “Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar” Program were thoroughly reviewed during a special meeting chaired by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.

Given the public’s interest, the idea of adding more commercial banks has been discussed throughout the conference.

The “Apni Chhat Apna Ghar” initiative has provided 28,219 families with interest-free loans totaling Rs 30 billion in just five months.

The Chief Minister instructed that the loan application procedure be accelerated under the ‘Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar’ Program. She directed that the aim for house construction under this initiative be met regardless of the circumstances.

“Obstacles in the process of loan distribution under the ‘Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar’ Programme should be avoided. No administration has been able to build as many dwellings in five years as it has in the last five months, said the Chief Minister while chairing the meeting.

“Serving the public is our clear vision. We are attempting to offer refuge for those in need following Quaid Muhammad Nawaz Sharif’s vision, she added.
