Conviction in Al-Qadir Trust Case will embarrass Pakistan globally: Imran Khan

ISLAMABAD: Founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan has said that by passing a verdict against me in the sleazy Al-Qadir Trust case, they will make a mockery of themselves all over the world and blacken their faces even more. They are going to punish me in a case from which I have not benefited a single penny, nor has the government suffered a single penny in loss.

Talking to journalists and lawyers at Adiala Jail, former Prime Minister Imran Khan said that the real punishment in this case belongs to Nawaz Sharif, who received Rs 9 billion in bribes. There are numerous cases like the Mayfair Apartments case against Nawaz Sharif and Zardari. These are the people who illegally acquired the most expensive cars from Toshakhana.

Imran Khan said that all the cases against Asif Zardari and Nawaz Sharif are clear, but the cases were closed by pardoning them only because they accepted the deal. In this case too, Nawaz Sharif has to be held accountable for Rs 9 billion.

The PTI founder further said that Bushra Bibi is completely innocent in the Al-Qadir Trust case. The sole purpose of including her in the case was to increase pressure on me. Even before this, Bushra Bibi was kept in jail for 9 months without any guilt.

The former prime minister said that no person in the world who knows that he is committing a crime would ever appoint a neutral umpire. I had established the practice of neutral umpires in cricket, and I still say that a judicial commission should be formed on the incidents of May 9 and November 26 that is completely neutral and gives a transparent decision. The government is avoiding this demand because it is a crime.

He said that we will also write a letter to the head of the constitutional bench, Justice Aminuddin, to hear the petition of human rights violations against us, our innocent people who are in military custody have been subjected to the worst mental and physical torture, our cases should be heard on priority basis.

He said that we have also completed the preparation of writing a letter to international human rights organizations and the United Nations in this regard. Because we are not getting justice from any court in Pakistan. Qazi Faez Isa and Aamir Farooq have been playing the role of the establishment’s opening batsman, the constitutional bench that has been formed now is also a continuation of them.

Imran Khan further said that there is no forgiveness for human rights violations in the whole world, General Pinochet was a powerful general of the West, but he was severely punished for human rights violations and torture, our political workers were kidnapped and tortured, and on May 9, the one who said goodbye to the PTI was acquitted of all charges.

The founding chairman of PTI said that on February 8, the elections were stolen by shamelessly robbing the rights of Pakistanis and making a mockery of himself all over the world. After the open mandate theft, there are shadows of instability everywhere in Pakistan. The whole nation will observe Black Day on February 8. On that day, democracy and the people were strangled in Pakistan by establishing a fake government of Form 47, after which neither political stability nor economic stability has been achieved in the country.

The former Prime Minister further said that we have to hold talks not for personal gain but in the broader interest of the country. Ending the political crisis is essential to end the political and economic crises facing Pakistan, control the problem of terrorism, and resolve other serious issues facing the country.
