Former Senator Mushtaq Ahmed Khan’s brother shot dead in Swabi

SWABI: In a tragic incident, Shakeel Ahmed, the elder brother of Former senator Mushtaq Ahmed Khan, has been brutally gunned down outside his home in the Ahmed Khan Kali Sheikh Jana village, Swabi.

According to the District Police Officer Muhammad Azhar, Shakeel Khan died from his neighbor&’s shooting. The accused,  first killed his father, and when Shakeel Khan attempted to intervene, he opened fire and killed him too.

According to the police, the accused is allegedly addicted to drugs and in an unstable mental state.

The former Senator Mushtaq Ahmed Khan expressed his great sorrow and grief in a post published on social media while mourning his brother’s death,  He said that his elder brother Shakeel Ahmed Khan was very dear to him, and was like a father figure. He called the incident ‘worst atrocity’.

Condolences poured in from various quarters, including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and Chief Secretary Shahab Ali Shah, who reached out to Mushtaq Khan and condemned the murder.

CM Gandapur assured that the accused will be severely punished according to the law. The funeral prayer of Shakeel Ahmed Khan is scheduled to take place at 3 PM in his native village Ahmed Kali. Meanwhile, local police are still searching for the suspect, who remains at large.
