KARACHI: Tragic news is emerging from Karachi’s Orangi Town, where a young carpenter’s tortured body was discovered in a garbage dump. Hassan Shah, a resident of Sector 9, was reported missing by his mother on Sunday night, and sadly, his body was found wrapped in a cloth, hidden inside a drum, and placed in a cupboard.
The police have registered a case and formed a team to apprehend the culprits.
This heartbreaking incident comes after another disturbing discovery last month, where a 10-year-old girl’s body was found in a garbage dump in the Lucky Star area of Saddar, Karachi.
The body was moved to the hospital for legal formalities, but unfortunately, the girl’s identity couldn’t be ascertained initially.
In response to the growing concern about unclaimed bodies, the Sindh police have issued strict orders for mandatory registration of First Information Reports (FIRs) and medical examinations.
This move comes after the recovery of an unclaimed newborn body in Karachi on July 3, prompting the inspector general to take action.
The Sindh police are addressing these gruesome crimes, prioritizing crime prevention, maintaining law and order, and redressing public grievances.
