ISLAMABAD: To manage traffic flow and curb one-wheeling activities on August 13 and 14, coinciding with Independence Day, the City Traffic Police (CTP) will deploy over 750 officers in Rawalpindi and Murree.

A CTP spokesperson announced that the deployment includes seven special squads assigned to various routes in Rawalpindi to prevent cars from drifting off course and to address one-wheeling incidents.

Drivers violating traffic regulations will face legal action.

Moreover, Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Beenish Fatima urged the public to adhere to traffic safety guidelines and drive cautiously.

She emphasized the importance of monitoring vehicle modifications and preventing young children from accessing cars or motorcycles.

In addition, Fatima also warned against fast driving, loud music, and other behaviors that could lead to accidents or contribute to noise pollution. She encouraged drivers to prioritize emergency vehicles and police.

For tourists, special checkpoints have been set up with 233 officers dispatched to Murree, supported by district police and traffic authorities working around the clock.

Additionally, vehicles without number plates, unregistered cars, and those with black-tinted windows will face scrutiny for security reasons.

Chief also stressed the need for strict enforcement against one-wheelers and underage drivers, urging parents to prevent their children from operating vehicles.
