LAHORE: Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat has announced on Tuesday that female school teachers across Punjab will be given two holidays every week.
Additionally, their end of day time will be adjusted to 2:30 pm instead of 3:00 pm.
The relief will take effect after the summer vacation, with schools resuming on August 15. The decision is aimed at addressing the challenges faced by women teachers and fulfilling their domestic responsibilities. Notification of these changes will be issued soon.
Earlier on August 10, the Punjab government announced new school timings for schools across Punjab from Friday, August 15, the day schools reopen after summer vacation.
As per the issued notification issued by the Government of Punjab School Education Department on August 10, schools operating in the morning shift from Monday to Thursday will observe timings from 8am to 1:30pm and from 8am to 12pm on Fridays.
