Deadly collision on M-9 motorway leaves 13 dead

ISLAMABAD: The M-9 Motorway near Kathore witnessed a deadly collision between an oil tanker, a bus, and a Suzuki van, which resulted in 13 deaths and multiple injuries.

The police reported that the oil tanker overturned because of the collision impact, which resulted in fuel leakage that spilled onto the highway. Police Officer maintains that the three deceased victims consisted of three women, three men, and four children.

The group included six women and children who fell while other passengers sustained injuries, which left some of them in critical condition. The investigation indicates that a van was operated on the incorrect side of the street, which resulted in the accident.

The track from Hyderabad to Karachi experienced severe traffic disruptions because of the deadly accident. The governor of Sindh has requested a report about the accident after he became aware of the incident.

The Home Minister of Sindh has instructed that medical care must be supplied immediately to those who suffered injuries, while he confirmed that Rescue 1122 teams have arrived at the accident site to assist with rescue operations.

He instructed those responsible for the rescue operations to enhance their emergency response capabilities. The city of Karachi experienced an increase in traffic accidents, criminal activities, and deadly incidents during 2025, which resulted in 830 road deaths according to rescue authorities, who documented 650 deaths of men and 85 deaths of women, 73 deaths of boys, and 22 deaths of girls.

The city experienced a major spike in traffic-related injuries, which resulted in 11837 people getting hurt throughout the entire city.

The violent crime rate rose because 89 people died while resisting robbery attempts, 14 people died during violent attacks and 35 people suffered injuries during assaults.
