The transfer has been made under Section 10 of the Civil Servants Act, 1973, with immediate effect and until further orders.
Earlier, the Inspector General of Police, Punjab Dr Usman Anwar, was transferred, whereas Rao Abdul Karim has been appointed as the new IG Punjab, the notification of which has also been issued.
