Dr. Warda Case: Main suspect killed in police encounter

ABAOTABAD: The main suspect in the Dr. Warda case has been killed in a police encounter, according to the Inspector General (IG) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The IG Khyber Pakhtunkhwa said that the main accused in the Dr. Warda murder case, Shamrez, has been killed in a police encounter.

He said that the main accused in the Dr. Warda murder case was absconding, but the team worked day and night in this important case, while the other accused named in the case had already been arrested.

Dr. Warda Mushtaq of DHQ Hospital Abbottabad was murdered after being kidnapped last week.

DPO Abbottabad Haroon Rashid had told a press conference regarding the case that Dr. Warda had entrusted 67 tola of gold to his friend Rida two years ago, while she was kidnapped and brutally murdered on demand for its return.

He had said that Dr. Warda was killed on the day of the kidnapping, and the post-mortem report had stated that the victim’s neck was broken, and death was due to strangulation and asphyxiation, and there were clear signs of torture on the body.

Later, the police named the accused’s husband, Waheed, the owner of Bully the Hattie, as an accused and arrested him, and the provisions of the Anti-Terrorism Act have also been included against the arrested accused.
