Earthquake hits Mingora & surrounding areas

MINGORA: A mild earthquake was felt in Mingora, Swat and its surroundings on Saturday, causing panic among residents.

According to the Seismological Center, the earthquake measured 4.3 on the Richter scale. The earthquake originated in the Hindu Kush mountain range at a depth of 73 kilometers.

Fortunately, no loss of life or property was reported after the seismic activity.

Earlier in the day, at 10:26 am, another earthquake was recorded off the southeastern coast of Ormara, Balochistan. According to the Seismological Center, the earthquake had a magnitude of 4.8, had a depth of 18 kilometers and its epicenter was in the Arabian Sea.

Despite the aftershocks, there was no significant damage or loss of life. Authorities are monitoring the situation.
