LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the launch of the PCB Talent Hunt program, saying that this program will improve cricket at the grassroots level.
While holding a press conference at the Gaddafi Stadium, PCB COO Sameer Ahmed Syed, Advisor to Chairman PCB Amir Mir and other officials said that the aim of the PCB Talent Hunt program is to bring out local talent.
They said that the PCB is going to start a talent hunt program at the school and college level. Through this program, talented boys and girls will get an opportunity to make it to the national team.
Amir Mir said that trials for young players will be held in different cities across the country and training will be provided to those who come on merit. Coaches will help these new players polish and become part of the national team.
The advisor to the Chairman of the Cricket Board said that the registration process for the Talent Hunt program will start from next month. Talent will also be recruited from schools, including players up to the U-16 level. He stressed that the aim is to promote cricket in the country and selection will be made on the basis of merit.
