ISLAMABAD:  The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has clarified the easy procedure for citizens to change their home address on the National Identity Card.

Now, those wishing to change their permanent or temporary address can approach the NADRA office with the necessary documents.

The video released by NADRA to guide citizens states that if a person is living in a rented house and wants to change the temporary address on their National Identity Card, they will have to submit a copy of the rent deed and a copy of the electricity bill.

Based on these documents, NADRA will complete the process of changing the temporary address of the citizen.

According to NADRA, if a citizen wants to register the address of the rented house as a permanent address on their National Identity Card, an additional affidavit from the landlord will also be required.

In this affidavit, the landlord will confirm that the relevant house has been rented to the citizen and that he has no objection to the tenant using this address as a permanent address in his identity documents.

On the other hand, if the citizen owns the house, he will have to show the original documents of the house at the NADRA office. According to NADRA officials, in this case, the original documents are scanned at the office, the citizen does not need to submit a photocopy.

Officials say that the aim of this facility is to facilitate citizens in registering accurate residential information so that the identity record remains updated and verifiable.

The procedure for knowing the details and records of your CNIC usage is to download the Pak ID (Pak Identity) app on your phone through the mobile app, enter your login details and open an account.

Click on the “Usage History” or “Verification History” option in the main menu, after which a patch will open on which the option for the last 15 days will be displayed.

Apart from this, here you will get a complete detail of where your CNIC has been used in the last 10 years (such as opening a bank account, issuing a SIM card or other verification steps).

Apart from this, you can also check the history and verification record of your CNIC by logging in to your account on NADRA’s official Pak ID web portal through the website. Verification will be done via SMS and if you just want to know how many mobile SIMs are registered on your CNIC, then write your CNIC number and send a message to 668.
