NADRA introduces new rule for issuance of CNIC

How to activate biometric verification in NADRA PakID for passport, bank services?

ISLAMABAD: NADRA has introduced a new rule regarding the issuance of computerized national identity cards.

For the first time, the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has made it optional for those applying for the identity card to provide a signature.

Where the applicant does not provide a signature, “NA” will be written in the signature box on the identity card. Thumbprint images will not be used in view of concerns about forgery and misuse.

An awareness campaign has been launched for illiterate applicants and those unable to sign.

A spokesperson for the National Database and Registration Authority said that applicants should not upload thumbprint images while submitting their application through the mobile application.
