Educational institutions in Punjab to reopen on January 19

LAHORE: Keeping in mind the health of students and the severity of the weather, the Punjab Education Minister has taken a major decision to extend the holidays of educational institutions by a week.

Under this decision, educational institutions across the province will now open from January 19.

According to Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat, this decision was made on the basis of a public survey conducted on his social media page, in which the majority voted in favor of extending the holidays.

He said that after public consultation, it was decided to extend the holidays by prioritizing the health of students.

According to the survey results, about 87 percent of people supported the extension of the holidays, while 13 percent voted in favor of opening educational institutions from January 12.

In the Education Minister’s poll, 154,178 votes were cast in favor of January 19, while 24,829 votes were cast in favor of January 12.

The Minister of Education has directed all CEOs of Education to ensure full implementation of this decision in their respective districts.
