Eid-ul-Azha 2024: Punjab govt introduces online portal for purchasing animals

LAHORE: The government of Punjab has introduced its first official online portal through which citizens can now buy sacrificial animals from their homes ahead of Eid-ul-Azha 2024, here on Sunday.

As per the details, apart from the pictures of the animals, the portal launched by the Punjab government will also include details like their age, weight, breed, price and other information.

Officials of the Punjab Cattle Market Management Authority have said that the portal has been made secure for buying and selling, both parties need to provide their ID card numbers before any transaction.

Additionally, after registering on the online portal, one can sell their animals. This portal will remain active even after Eid-ul-Azha.

In addition, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) is set to introduce a QR code payment system through its digital platform, Raast, aimed at facilitating the purchase of sacrificial animals during Eid-ul-Azha.
