Engineer Muhammad Ali Mirza arrested, jailed in Jhelum

JHELUM: Religious Scholar, Engineer Muhammad Ali Mirza, has been arrested by the Jhelum Police.

Jhelum police entered his academy in Machine Mohalla, detaining Mirza under tight security before taking him to Jhelum District Jail.

The religious scholar was arrested under Section 3 of the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) on the orders of the Deputy Commissioner of Jhelum, as per the reports.

According to media reports, the purpose of his arrest is to maintain law and order.

The administration arrested Mirza and also sealed his academy so that any gathering or activity could be prevented in the academy.

It should be noted that religious parties had filed a petition against Engineer Ali Mirza, while delegations of various scholars met the district administration and demanded the arrest of the religious scholar.

YouTuber was previously detained by the authorities in 2020 over blasphemy allegations, but was later released.
