Faisal Rathore removes Chaudhry Rasheed from cabinet

MUZAFFARABAD: Azad Kashmir Prime Minister Faisal Mumtaz Rathore has dismissed Minister Chaudhry Muhammad Rashid from the ministry.

Chaudhry Muhammad Rashid held the ministries of Power Development Organization and Planning and Development. The decision to dismiss was implemented immediately on the instructions of the Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir.

According to sources, differences arose over Chaudhry Muhammad Rashid’s possible joining the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, and deviation from party policy is being cited as the main reason for the dismissal.

Sources say that news of Chaudhry Muhammad Rashid changing his political allegiance has created a stir in government circles.

Prime Minister Faisal Mumtaz Rathore has taken strict steps to maintain government discipline, Chaudhry Muhammad Rashid’s ministry has been terminated, and consultations are underway on new portfolios of departments.

As per reports, state minister Rasheed reached Lahore to meet the PML-N leadership for a ticket. He met PM Shehabz’s special aide on Political Affairs, Rana Sanaullah, where Raja Farooq Haider was also present.

Chaudhry Rasheed may get the PML-N ticket for Constituency 7 in the upcoming elections, sources said.
